Arizona

Arizona Muse is the model of the moment right now. Her perfect bone structure is everywhere I look! Arizona (her real name is Zoe which makes me feel better...at least she wasn't born gorgeous AND with the coolest name possibly ever. That would just be unfair.) is only 22 but has ignited the runways this past season. Anna Wintour has even called her the Next Big Thing in the industry, comparing her to Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova!

Arizona signed with Next models in 2008 but found herself pregnant shortly afterwards, slightly stunting her emergence into the modelling world. One and a half years later, however, she has made a dynamite comeback in her first ever modelling season. Arizona stormed the runways of a jaw-dropping 64 shows this season! 64! She opened and closed the BCBG Max Azria show, and appeared on the Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Proenza Schouler shows to name only a few.

She is also the face of the red hot Yves Saint Laurent campaign for Spring/Summer 2011 (If you haven't seen the video, check it out here). You can catch her in countless editorials and on the cover of Vogue Italia with Freja Beha Erichsen. She also appears in the Prada Spring/Summer 2011 campaign video (watch it here).

The stunning Arizona Muse is definitely one to watch. I predict a superstar in the making!

Something tells me we haven't seen the last of Miss Muse! Look out for her this season. Have a look at this video about Arizona from Fashion TV for a closer look at the newest It model.

Look of the Week

I have decided to start doing a Look of the Week feature every week. For this past week, this is my chosen look. I love the clashing acid brights paired with a simple white top and skinny leopard belt. The outfit is tied together with an Ethnic-looking beaded Accessorize clutch (sooo pretty, I bought it for my best friend's birthday last September).

Pictures taken from www.lookbook.nu

Copy this look with these copycat looks:

1. Blouse from New Look.
2. Trousers from Zara (Major shopping crush, and they come in other bright colours!).
3. These Carvela shoes from Asos or these from Topshop.
4. Belt from Asos.
5. Amalfi clutch from Accessorize. I also really like this yellow Topshop clutch that also comes in green and red.

Happy Sunday! xx

Just some guys from St. Albans...

My latest music obsession is the band Friendly Fires.

The three man band originally came together at age 14 while they attended St. Albans School in Hertfordshire. They were the very first unsigned band to appear on Channel 4's Transmissions television programme.
Their first self-titled album received very positive reactions from the music world. The single "Paris" was Zane Lowe's Single of the Week on BBC Radio 1. The album went on to do very well in the UK, and the band headlined at the NME Awards Tour in 2009. The following year, Friendly Fires was up for both Best British Group and Best Breakthrough Act at the prestigious Brit Awards.

They also covered a Depeche Mode song on the soundtrack for the advert for the Gucci fragrance "Guilty".

Not only do they seem like nice, normal guys but I am loving their completely unique sound, sort of 80's dance mixed with punk and electro beats. Their music is so original and perfect for spring time when the sun is out! I especially love the debut album singles Skeleton Boy (If you haven't heard it, listen here), Paris and Kiss of Life (Such a good summery song, and a great video, too!).

Their second album, Pala will be released this year on the 16th of May. (The artwork on the album's cover is actually a picture of a parrot shot by legendary fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø. For a sneak peak of the new sound, hear the album's first single, Live Those Days Tonight here. For more information on the band's highly anticipated second album, have a look at this article on the band.

Spring Hairstyles

For this Spring season, I really like long waves and feminine up-dos. Messy braids and girly, ballerina-style chignons are a must.

Michael Kors and Erdem Spring/Summer 2011.

Z by Zac Posen and Proenza Schouler S/S 2011.

Celine and Nina Ricci S/S 2011.

Lauren Conrad is a celebrity icon for this hairstyle with her summery California waves. I especially like the twists and plaits she adds to her hair for a hippy, feminine look that is hot this spring.

Enjoy playing around with your own styles this season!

Cowgirl

I love the vintage, Western feel of these photos by David Sims for Emanuelle Alt's first edition as editor of Vogue Paris. They almost look like paintings to me. I especially like the tassels, layering and floaty tops. Isabeli Fontana looks so beautiful!

The girl with the violet eyes

Film star and legendary diva Dame Elizabeth Taylor passed away yesterday at 79 years old. She was not only an incredible talent but one of the most famous beauties of the century and a style icon. I can't get enough of her colourful style and show=stopping elegance. I love her signature smokey makeup that she would wear to highlight her famous purple tinted eyes. She was a true symbol of old Hollywood elegance, always dripping in diamonds and fur. Elizabeth was especially well known for her role as Cleopatra. I so want the Cleo jewellery, it is so stunning! RIP to the Queen of Diamonds.
